Skin, Style & Real Conversations at Melbourne Fashion Festival

The energy around Melbourne Fashion Festival is always electric. Designers, creatives, media and fashion lovers gather to celebrate style, creativity and the future of Australian fashion. But behind every fashion moment, every camera flash, and every beauty moment, there’s something we care deeply about at Zöe+Hope, skin confidence. This year, we were excited to be part of the festival atmosphere, connecting with guests and sharing skincare insights with women navigating sensitive, reactive and problematic skin.

Fashion Week Meets Real Skin

Before the shows began, we spent time speaking with festival guests about their skin concerns. Events like fashion week can actually put stress on the skin. Long days, layers of makeup, bright lighting, and changes in routine can easily trigger sensitivity, dehydration, breakouts and redness.

Many of the women we met were experiencing concerns like, sensitive skin flare-ups, dehydration and dullness, hormonal breakouts, redness and rosacea, and irritation from makeup or products. These conversations allowed us to offer personalised skincare guidance, helping guests understand how to support their skin barrier and calm reactive skin during busy event seasons.

Skincare for Sensitive & Problematic Skin

At Zöe+Hope, we focus on creating skincare for sensitive skin, skin prone to redness, and problematic skin, with formulations designed to strengthen the skin barrier while supporting long-term skin health. Many festival attendees were surprised to learn that irritation, redness and breakouts are often connected to compromised skin barriers, rather than simply using the “wrong product”.

Our approach focuses on restoring barrier strength, calming inflammation, supporting the skin microbiome, and improving hydration. It’s skincare that prioritises skin health first, which becomes even more important during high-energy events like fashion week.

Where Fashion Meets Skin Confidence

Moments like these are important for us. Fashion, beauty and skin health are deeply connected and being part of the conversation allows us to continue supporting women beyond the bathroom mirror. Fashion may take centre stage, but confidence often starts with how we feel in our own skin. It was a privilege to share our perspective on supporting sensitive and problematic skin in high-energy environments. We’re grateful to everyone who stopped to speak with us, share their skin stories and explore solutions.

If you’re sure where to start on your skincare journey, Zöe+Hope founder, Evangeline, offers personalised skin consultations designed to understand your skin’s unique needs. Whether you're dealing with redness, breakouts, pigmentation, dehydration or barrier sensitivity, we take a considered approach to help restore balance and confidence to your skin. If you’d like guidance tailored specifically to you, we invite you to book a consultation and begin your journey toward healthier, more resilient skin.
